He performs with a wide range of ensembles including bands led by Charlie Haden, Lee Konitz, Larry Goldings, Denny Zeitlin, Bill Mays, Jane Ira Bloom, Dena Derose, Ted Nash, Frank Kimbrough, Steve Cardenas, Mark Dresser and numerous others. Terell-in-hat-and-scarf   Terrell Stafford has been hailed as "one of the great players of our time, a fabulous trumpet player" by piano legend McCoy Tyner. Known for being a gifted and versatile player with a voice all his own, Stafford combines lyricism and a deep love of melody with a spirited, adventurous edge. This uniquely expressive, well-defined musical talent allows Stafford the ability to dance in and around the rich trumpet tradition of his predecessors while making his own inroads.  Terrell has also played with McCoy Tyner's Latin All-Stars, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Village Vanguard Orchestra, and Mingus Big Band. Mentor Tyner noted, "Terell is one of the great players of our time, a fabulous trumpet player. He has his own voice on his instrument—a very personal sound." terrellstafford.com
